Russian / New shapes
Фф
The letter “эф”
/f/
Ф ф sounds like f, as in "fit". Shaped like the Greek letter phi (Φ): a circle on a pole.
Where is Ф on the keyboard?
On Russian Phonetic, ф is on the key QWERTY prints as "f", left index finger, on the home row. On ЙЦУКЕН it is on the key QWERTY prints as "a", left little finger, on the home row. Two different physical keys for one letter, which is why moving between the two layouts is its own skill rather than a detail.
